ABOUT ME
Hello!
I’m Edna, a Certified Surgical Technologist and Visual Artist based in Chicago, IL.
My illustrative work spans a wide range of social and scientific topics, inspired by my desire to stir curiosity and deepen understanding of the world we share.
This mission was shaped by my experiences in the operating room, where I became aware of the widespread lack of knowledge that prevents many people from effectively caring for their health. The disparity, unfortunately, more pronounced in minority and low income families.
As a woman and first generation Mexican-American, this realization sparked my passion to empower people to take charge of their well-being, make informed decisions, and ignite a general curiosity about the many elements that impact the health of our communities.
Through an exploration of a number of those elements—from environmental issues, nutrition, and even social, racial, and economical implications, I’m committed to building bridges by helping people share their stories and communicate nuanced ideas with clarity, and emotion.
With my unique skill set, I craft visuals that resonate on multiple levels, inspiring compassion and inviting deeper exploration, empowering audiences to engage with complex topics.
